U.S. Consulate in Belfast Evacuated in Bomb Scare

BELFAST, Northern Ireland —
The staff of the U.S. Consulate here and hundreds of other office workers were evacuated Thursday when police discovered a bomb hidden in a beer keg placed outside a nearby police station.
British army explosives experts defused the device and said that dozens of people could have been injured had the bomb gone off.
