Jerry Falwell Leaves PTL

Certainly Jim and Tammy Bakker are grotesque, their personal conduct has been seamy and their financial shenanigans were outrageous. However, I think Falwell’s calling their leadership of PTL “the greatest scab and cancer on the face of Christianity in 2000 years,” reflects a curious historical perspective.

I’m still for putting the Inquisition, the Crusades and the performance of the Catholic Church during the Holocaust way up there over expensive dog houses, a few hundred million in tax-exempt high living and inflicting those eyelashes on us.
