Paine Webber Group Inc.’s earnings fell 29.9% to $14.8 million for the third quarter, compared to the same quarter last year. The New York-based parent of the Paine Webber investment firm said revenue was up 3.8% to $628.6 million for the quarter. Expenses were also reported up 7.5% for the period.
