Mass for Slain Haitian Delayed

PORT-AU-PRINCE, Haiti —
Thousands of people fought for space inside the Notre Dame cathedral today while thousands crowded outside, forcing postponement of a funeral Mass for slain presidential candidate Yves Volel.
Meanwhile, former President Jimmy Carter arrived in Port-au-Prince for a one-day visit and planned to meet with members of the military-led junta, the independent Electoral Council and religious and business leaders.
