Hycor Biomedical Posts Net Income of $131,000

Hycor Biomedical said it posted net income of $131,000 for the third quarter, contrasted with a loss of $76,000 a year earlier. The quarterly profit includes a net operating loss carry-forward of $52,000.

Sales for the Fountain Valley manufacturer of specialty diagnostic products increased 12% to $1.7 million from $1.5 million a year ago.

For the first nine months of 1987, net income was $321,000, including a loss carry-forward of $109,000, compared to a loss of $170,000 in 1986. Sales rose 11% to $5.3 million from $4.8 million for the comparable period a year earlier.
