Trustees’ Bid for Tax Rebates
A majority of the school trustees in the Orange Unified School District have been indicted by the Orange County Grand Jury on charges of willful misconduct in office because about $4 million of the school district’s money has allegedly been stolen or misapplied.
Now the same Orange Unified School District Board of Trustees, according to a Sept. 16 article in The Times, wants the taxpayers in the district to give it a percentage of their California tax rebates because the district is short of money.
I believe that it would be wise to wait until the results of the trial are known before any additional money is placed under this board’s governance.
