Good Looks

I appreciate your almost-weekly attention on minority women--your recent beauty articles regarding black hair weaves, colored contact lenses attracting a predominantly black clientele and just this last week, Sept. 27, on the “natural” look for Asian and black women (Looks, by Paddy Calistro). I remember as a college student reviewing Essence, which had just been introduced in 1970, and commenting that it is too bad that there have to be segregated publications and that items of concern to minorities cannot be included with the so-called white publications. I am pleased to see that the Los Angeles Times Magazine attempts to cover those valuable topics.
