Potlatch Corp., a San Francisco-based company that manufactures a wide range of forest-based products, has announced plans to establish sales offices in Australia and Japan.

The offices will be operating in early 1988, according to Richard B. Madden, chairman and chief executive. Potlatch is a major supplier of bleached paperboard, especially liquid packaging board, in Australia and Japan. The company also markets tissue in Australia.

Potlatch has major forest holdings in Arkansas, Idaho and Minnesota, and produces a full range of paper and wood products. In addition to bleached paperboard and tissue, the company manufactures coated printing papers, lumber, structural panels, and decorative and other specialties in solid wood.
