Eastern Airlines posted a $67.4-million loss for the third quarter, in contrast with a year-earlier profit of $17.9 million. The Miami-based subsidiary of Texas Air Corp. said a gain of $24.8 million from the sale of gates and ground facilities produced last year’s third-quarter profit. The company said the results reflect the impact of a slowdown, fuel price increases and lower than anticipated passenger yields.
