Bunche Awards Mark U.N. Day
The United Nations Assn. and the World Federalists marked Friday U.N. Day, by honoring three people with the Ralph Bunche Peace Award in recognition of their committment to enhancing the quality of life for the world community.
Honored were Tanya Tull, co-founder and executive director of L.A. Family housing Corporation and founder and president of Para Los Ninos, a children’s social service agency on Skid Row; author and World Federalists founder Norman Cousins, now a member of the UCLA medical faculty; and Los Angeles Times staff writer Kathleen Hendrix.
