Molecular Biosystems Reports Income Gain

Benefiting from a one-time license fee of $610,000, Molecular Biosystems Inc. reported net income of $445,767 on revenue of $1.1 million for the second quarter ended Sept. 30. Over the same three months last year, during which time MBI reported no license fees, the company reported a profit of $83,147 on revenue of $415,049.

For the year to date, MBI’s profit stands at $406,465 on revenue of $1.7 million, compared to net income of $744,883 on revenue of $1.5 million over the same six months last year. MBI is developing a number of medical diagnostic products based on DNA probe technology as well as a contrast-imaging agent used in ultrasound diagnostic tests.
