Coronado Attorney Appointed to Bench
Gov. George Deukmejian on Thursday appointed attorney Peter E. Riddle of Coronado to a seat on the San Diego County Municipal Court bench.
Riddle, 49, will be sworn in today and replaces Judge Herbert J. Exarhos, who was elevated to San Diego County Superior Court.
Reached at his San Diego law office Thursday, Riddle said he was “delighted and flattered” to have won the appointment.
A 1960 graduate of Yale University and the University of Chicago Law School, Riddle has maintained his own law practice since 1978, specializing in estate planning and probate matters. Before that he worked for the San Diego law firm of McDonald, Riddle, Hecht & Worley for six years.
Riddle was a U.S. Navy SEAL during the Vietnam War. His annual salary will be $74,432.
