MAI Basic Four Acquires Texas Software Firm

MAI Basic Four Inc., a Tustin-based computer manufacturer, has acquired Systems Specialists Inc., a Texas computer software company, for an undisclosed price.

Systems Specialists makes software for manufacturing companies that operates on MAI Basic computer systems. The Texas firm has sales offices in Irvine and seven other U.S. cities.

MAI Basic said it will retain about 80 Systems Specialists employees.

Previously last week, the Tustin firm announced its purchase of a computer maintenance company in Denmark.
