‘Not Just for Wimps’

Thank your for your terrific editorial. However, I denote a bit of plagiarism. It seems to me that when Sen. Joseph Biden (D-Del.) was in the presidential race, he denounced the self-aggrandizement of the people who say, “I’ve got mine, so go and get yours.” This is mentioned in your fine editorial regarding our nation’s sense of values: “. . . Managers who fashion golden parachutes for themselves and mumble, I’ve got mine.. . .”

Biden’s thought has certainly hit home recently, especially for me, because even though I hold two degrees, I have been unemployed for 22 months--since earning a master’s degree. Consequently, I have not “got mine,” and with the upcoming recession/depression, wonder if I ever will.
