Holiday Inn Discounts

Holiday Inns has initiated another weekend discount program at more than a thousand participating Holiday Inns and Holiday Inn Crowne Plaza hotels in the United States.

Called the “Great Rates Winning Weekends,” the program offers rates of $29, $39 or $49 a room per night on Friday, Saturday and Sunday until Dec. 31. While occupancy of the room is up to the individual hotel, generally no more than four people can stay in a room at these rates, according to a Holiday Inns spokeswoman.

Prices depend on where the hotel is and what type of room is requested. Participating hotels may offer one or all of the rates.

Reservations are required, but can be made at any time before arrival. As with all discount programs, rooms are on a limited, space-available basis.

Concurrently, Holiday Inns is continuing its regular “Great Rates” program, which offers 20% to 50% off rack (usual) rates at participating hotels. The specific discount varies from property to property. Rooms can be reserved weekdays or weekends, with no cut-off point for this discount offering.

It’s possible that a hotel may offer both programs, but won’t offer both discounts during the same days of the week.

It’s important to learn which discount program, if any, the hotel is honoring when you book a room. Make sure you ask for one of the discounts when you make your reservations.

Under the 20% to 50% discount program, you have to make reservations at least a week in advance and guarantee it by credit card or cash deposit. If you cancel or change your reservation within 72 hours of your arrival date, a $25 cancellation charge will be posted against your credit card.

The use of a credit card or cash deposit to guarantee your reservation isn’t necessary with the new weekend-only discount program.
