This hourlong compilation of film and videotape excerpts ignores the ballets of artistic director Yuri Grigorovich, except for his adaptations of 19th-Century classics. That’s daring, if not subversive. The emphasis is upon Bolshoi elegance (“Sleeping Beauty”), Bolshoi lyricism (Leonid Lavrovsky’s “Romeo and Juliet”), Bolshoi flamboyance (“Don Quixote”). There are glimpses--too often abruptly terminated--of legendary performances by Galina Ulanova, Marina Semyonova and Maya Plisetskaya.
