Foodmaker Says Net Income in 4th Quarter Double That of ’86

Foodmaker Inc., which operates and franchises 898 Jack in the Box restaurants, reported that net income for the fourth quarter ended Sept. 30 more than doubled to $4.4 million, contrasted with $2.1 million during the fourth quarter of the previous year. Fourth-quarter revenue increased by 10% to $146.5 million from $132.8 million.

Net income for the fiscal year ended Sept. 30 rose by 51% to $13.9 million from $9.2 million during the previous fiscal year. Revenue rose by 7% to $598.3 million from $556.5 million.

Average sales at company restaurants increased by 13.1% during the fourth quarter and by 10.2% for the fiscal year. New products and a new advertising campaign generated the increases, according to Chairman and President Jack W. Goodall Jr.
