More than half of the frequent air travelers surveyed by an airline passenger group said they considered airline deregulation a success, a study said Tuesday.

But four of every 10 passengers surveyed say airline on-time performance needs to be improved and 48% suggested that safety has worsened.

The survey was conducted by the International Airline Passengers’ Assn., which represents more than 100,000 frequent air travelers worldwide who take an average of 14 round trip flights a year. Of those, 30,000 were surveyed.

The survey showed that convenient, on-time flight schedules are the top priority of the frequent flyers. The comfort of the cabin seats were second, followed by “safety and security.”
