Local News in Brief : El Toro : Ground Breaking Set for Low-Income Project

Ground-breaking ceremonies will take place Friday for a 76-unit family housing development of which half the apartments will be made available to low-income families.

The project is a joint venture of the Housing and Community Development Office of the county’s Environmental Management Agency and Canada Ridge Lane Partners.

The ceremony is scheduled for 11 a.m. at the project site on Canada Road, northeast of the intersection of Lake Forest Drive and Pittsford drives. County Supervisor Gaddi H. Vasquez, who represents El Toro, and Herb Roberts, a representative of the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, will speak during the ceremonies.

The project is scheduled for completion by next summer and will include 50 three-bedroom units and 26 two-bedroom apartments.
