A federal grand jury in Burlington, Vt., returned a five-count indictment against three Canadians of Lebanese descent charged with smuggling a bomb across the U.S.-Canadian border. The jury charged the trio with conspiracy to illegally transport explosives across the border and with two counts of “unlawful possession of a destructive device.” Charged were Walid Kabbani, 36, Walid Mourad, 38, and Georges Fouad Younan, 45. The three were arrested Oct. 24 near the Canadian border after police discovered a nylon bag allegedly belonging to them that authorities say contained pipe bombs, a detonating device, wire cutters and a head mask.
