President Reagan announced today that he is nominating Henry Anatole Grunwald, editor-in-chief of Time magazine, to become ambassador to Austria.

Grunwald, 64, was born in Vienna. He has been editor-in-chief of Time since 1979 and has been with the magazine since 1945, rising through the ranks from staff writer. If confirmed by the Senate, he will succeed Ronald S. Lauder in the Vienna post.
