Offshore Oil Spill Halted

MEXICO CITY —
A runaway offshore oil well has been capped, the government newspaper El Nacional said Saturday. The well, in Campeche Sound off the Gulf of Mexico port of Ciudad del Carmen, went out of control Oct. 10. The Excelsior news service reported the spill caused a 70% drop in the fishing catch in the area.
