East Bloc Officers to See British Exercises

STRANRAER, Scotland — A group of Warsaw Pact officers led by two Soviet colonels flew to Scotland on Sunday to observe Operation Purple Warrior, Britain’s biggest seaborne exercises since the 1982 Falklands War with Argentina.
A total of 40 observers from the Soviet Union, Bulgaria, Czechoslovakia, Poland and Hungary as well as neutral states were invited to watch the exercises.
