Bank of America has appointed Paul Zippwald and Wally Nielsen to the newly created positions of regional vice president in the commercial banking division for Orange County. Zippwald will head the bank’s Anaheim main office and oversee commercial banking activities in the northern county. Nielsen will head the South Coast Financial Center and cover commercial banking in southern Orange County. Zippwald joined Bank of America in 1954 as a bookkeeper in the Anaheim office. He held various positions until becoming vice president and head of the Anaheim area management group in 1983, a position he held until his new assignment. Nielsen joined the bank’s management development program in Orange County in 1963 and advanced through the ranks to become vice president and area manager of the Newport area management group.
