The 18-year-old son of Assemblywoman Sunny Mojonnier (R-Encinitas) pleaded guilty Friday to petty theft in the stealing of some cassette tapes from a car.

Scott David Mojonnier of Encinitas was immediately sentenced by San Diego Municipal Judge Frederic L. Link to 10 days in a public service program.

Mojonnier also was placed on three years’ probation for the misdemeanor offense. Felony charges of burglary and possession of burglary tools were dismissed.

Three other friends also pleaded guilty to misdemeanor charges and were given three years probation in the same Oct. 15 burglary of a car at UCSD.

Scott Envall, 19, of Encinitas pleaded guilty to burglary and was given 20 days in the public service program.

Michael Templin, 18, of Cardiff pleaded guilty to petty theft and got 10 days of public service works. William Russell, 18, of Cardiff pleaded guilty to attempted petty theft and was sentenced to probation.

No jail time was imposed. Mojonnier and Templin could have received six months in county jail and a $1,000 fine, and Envall faced a one-year maximum sentence.
