Chinese Leader Visits Italy

ROME —
Chinese President Li Xiannian arrived Friday on the first visit to Italy by a Chinese head of state. His three-day stay will include talks with President Francesco Cossiga and other Italian leaders focusing on bilateral ties, East-West relations ahead of the Dec. 7 U.S.-Soviet summit in Washington and the Persian Gulf War.
