AND WAIT, THERE’S MORE: Epic Records has signed jazz legend Ornette Coleman, who’ll release “Virgin Beauty,” his first major-label album in years, next February. . . . Rhino Records has signed local blues-busters the James Harman Band, whose just-released album is titled “Those Dangerous Gentlemen.” The group will be at the Music Machine next Saturday night. . . . Capitol Records has signed ex-Split Enz founder Tim Finn (whose brother Neil leads Crowded House). . . . The Pet Shop Boys have cut a new version of Elvis’ “Always on My Mind,” which should pop up as a B-side some time soon. . . . Talk about star treatment--Ben E. King’s new album, “Save the Last Dance for Me,” has production help from Foreigner’s Mick Jones, ex-Zeppelin bassist John Paul Jones and Motown legend Lamont Dozier. . . . ZZ Top doesn’t have a hits package coming out. But you can grab all of the band’s early recordings later this month with the release of the “ZZ Top CD Six-Pack,” which features 60 songs culled from the group’s first six records (at a budget-priced $49.95). . . . Warner Bros. is releasing Paul Simon’s first four solo records on CD for the first time. The discs were originally issued on CBS but became Simon’s property when he moved to Warners. . . . And we confess that we’re totally confused about the contents of the upcoming Paul McCartney collection, “All the Best.” First off, it doesn’t have a new song, as we erroneously reported last week. In fact, the British version has five tracks that aren’t on the U.S. version (including “Maybe I’m Amazed” and “Mull of Kntyre”), while the U.S. version has two tracks (“Junior’s Farm” and “Uncle Albert/Admiral Halsey”) that aren’t on the U.K. version.
