MAI Basic Four, a Tustin computer products company, has acquired three West German computer software firms. Financial terms were not disclosed.

The acquisitions include Autosoft, which produces software for auto dealerships; Basic Insoft, a maker of products for the printing and publishing industry; and ODR Systems, which specializes in products for the sewn-products industry.

“These acquisitions are part of our announced corporate strategy to acquire greater control over application software,” said William B. Patton Jr., president and chief executive. The purchases will help MAI Basic “penetrate and accelerate growth” in West Germany and serve as “a platform for expansion into other European countries.”
