A lawyer for labor unions at Pan American World Airways said he met with representatives of Chicago financier Jay A. Pritzker concerning a possible bid for the airline, which is owned by Pan Am Corp. “They (the Pritzker representatives) have met with me but not with my clients,” the lawyer said. “The union representatives may meet with the Pritzker people in a few days.” The unions have been seeking an investor to rescue the airline from its financial troubles. Pritzker’s investment company owns 69% of Dallas-based Braniff Inc., the parent of Braniff airlines. Meanwhile, Los Angeles financier Kirk Kerkorian, who made an earlier bid for Pan Am that was turned down, said through a spokesman that he has no immediate intention of sweetening his bid.
