International Pharmaceutical Products Inc. has filed suit in Los Angeles Superior Court for $200 million in compensatory damages against Evanston Insurance Co. and certain other unnamed defendants. The suit alleges the insurance company, in bad faith, breached an agreement to arbitrate the amount of damages that Walnut, Calif.-based IPPI suffered when its former patent attorneys failed to timely file foreign patents on IPPI’s anti-ulcer drug.
