Rainbow Technologies, an Irvine-based designer and producer of software security and data protection devices, reported that net income for the third quarter increased to $149,215, compared with $30,829 the previous year. Sales more than doubled, to $757,510 from $289,116. Net income for the nine-month period jumped to $361,622, from $62,425 a year earlier. Nine-month sales totaled $1.9 million, up from $720,421 last year.
