Bomb Attack in N. Ireland

Share

The recent indiscriminate bombing by the Irish Republican Army terrorist organization in Enniskillen, Northern Ireland, in which 11 people were murdered and over 60 injured made world headlines only because of the high casualty list of innocent men, women and children (Part I, Nov. 9).

The people of Northern Ireland have to live with everyday killings by these so called “freedom fighters” whose sole aim is to achieve a “united Ireland” even though this is against the will of the majority of the people there.

The IRA statement claiming responsibility and that the bomb was intended for the security forces is an out-and-out lie. The bomb was placed in a community hall where a remembrance ceremony to honor the dead of two world wars was to be held, so of course there would be civilians there.

Much of the funding to purchase guns and explosives used by the IRA comes from donations made by Americans who must surely realize by now that their support of these terrorists in Northern Ireland has done nothing but heap sorrow and despair on the innocent, hard-working people of Northern Ireland.

I would suggest that donors take a look at themselves and consider what they are supporting. By donating money to the IRA they too have Northern Irish blood on their hands just as surely as the terrorists who planted the bomb.
