WASHINGTON —
Six Americans on a domestic flight in Tanzania have been detained by the Tanzanian military authorities, a State Department official said Wednesday.
Five American tourists and an American pilot on board an African Inland Mission flight, along with 39 other people, were detained by Tanzanian authorities, he said.
Tanzanian officials told the U.S. Embassy in Dar es Salaam that the plane was flying over Tanzanian territory doing a survey without authority.
