One of 10 unions involved in a massive labor dispute at the Nevada Test Site and Tonopah Test Range ratified a new five-year contract, and thousands of other striking workers could return to work before Thanksgiving if current negotiations resolve minor stumbling blocks, officials said.

Members of Laborers Local 872 voted unanimously Wednesday in favor of a new contract that calls for the 138 members of the laborers union to return to work at the two government facilities Monday, according to union chief Bernhard Hawkins.

In a 10-union dispute, more than 3,000 workers have observed picket lines since Sept. 15.
