Share

Los Angeles City Councilwoman Gloria Molina proposed Friday that a new city advisory committee on housing policy be established.

“The lack of affordable housing has reached crisis proportions,” Molina said. “A unified effort is needed to create and implement innovative policy recommendations. We must address this issue head-on.”

Molina said the new panel should include the mayor, three members of the City Council and the heads of the Community Development Department, the Community Redevelopment Agency, the city Housing Authority and the Planning Department. Her proposal was referred to the council’s Grants, Housing and Community Development Committee for study.
