Tabatha Foster, recovering in Pittsburgh, Pa., from surgery to transplant five organs, slipped into unconsciousness and recovered within several hours. William F. Donaldson Jr., medical director of Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh, said Tabatha might have suffered a seizure. Throughout the episode, Tabatha’s blood pressure and pulse remained normal, he said. Afterward she was awake and able to respond to questions by nodding her head. Tabatha, 3, received a liver, pancreas, small intestine and parts of the stomach and colon in an operation that ended Nov. 1.
