A 31-year-old man was killed early Tuesday when he lost control of his car on Interstate 5 near Mission Bay, the California Highway Patrol reported.
Jeffrey Kreke of San Diego was southbound on I-5 at a high speed when he drifted off the road to the right, hit a guard rail, went across the freeway and hit another guard rail. Kreke’s car overturned and he was thrown out, the CHP said.
He was pronounced dead at the scene.
