Newport Beach residential builder William Lyon Co. said it has obtained approval from La Mirada in Los Angeles County to build a master-planned community of 800 homes.
The new development, called Hillsborough, is a joint venture between Lyon and Chevron Land & Development Co. under the name of La Mirada Hills Development Co.
Hillsborough will include condominiums, moderate-sized single-family detached houses and larger detached houses.
Construction will begin in the spring, with sales projected to start in late 1988, said Fred Bosley, a Lyon division vice president.
