Alhambra : Business License Tax Hiked
The minimum business license tax in Alhambra will be increased from $10 to $35, and future increases will be tied to the consumer price index under an ordinance introduced this week by the City Council and scheduled for adoption Tuesday.
City Manager Kevin Murphy said the ordinance is expected to increase revenue by $80,000 the first year. It changes renewal procedures so that business licenses will expire at various times during the year instead of all on Dec. 31.
