THANKSGIVING DINNER FOR THE NEEDY

The following organizations will serve Thanksgiving dinner today to the needy. Some of the organizations also still need contributions of food and volunteer helpers. Orange County Rescue Mission, 1901 W. Walnut St., Santa Ana, (714) 835-0499.

Dinner will be served starting at 11:30 a.m. Those who want to volunteer to serve dinner are asked to arrive after 8 a.m.

Southwest Community Center,1601 W. Second St., Santa Ana, (714) 543-8933

Dinner will be served at noon. The center is accepting food and plastic and paper utensil donations today. Volunteers also are needed to cook and serve.

St. Joseph’s Church, 727 Minter St., Santa Ana, (714) 542-4411

Thanksgiving dinner will be served from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. in the parish hall.

Serving lunch 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., following a 10 a.m. worship service, and still accepting donations until 2 p.m. today.

Accepting food donations until noon today which will be given to local organizations, Share Our Selves (SOS) and Friends In Service To Humanity, for distribution to needy families.

A special canned good drive held at mass today at 8:30 a.m. will be given to Share Our Selves for distribution at Christmas.
