Local News in Brief : Hotel Fight to Continue

Proponents of a beachfront hotel in Hermosa Beach say they will ask the California Supreme Court to hear the case now that the 2nd District Court of Appeal has refused to rehear it.

The appeal court ruled about a month ago that one of the yes votes in favor of the hotel in a 1985 referendum was invalid. The result was a tie vote, meaning the hotel could not be built. Last week, the appeal court declined to rehear the case.

Robert E. Hinerfeld, attorney for hotel proponents, said Wednesday that he will ask the state Supreme Court to hear the case.
