Two former top officers of Video Station Inc. pleaded innocent to charges that they lied to federal regulators about the videocassette record company’s profitability. Edward J. Atkinson, 49, founder and former president, and his brother, George W. Atkinson, 52, former secretary-treasurer, are charged with filing false reports with the Securities and Exchange Commission and then lying to SEC investigators about the reports. Robert A. MacNeil Jr., 27, a former Video Station employee, is also charged with perjury for allegedly lying to SEC investigators. All three appeared before a federal magistrate in Los Angeles and face trial Jan. 26.
