Ever wonder how products get their names?
CSSL Inc., a Seal Beach technology company, recently introduced a printed circuit board designed to enhance the processing speed and memory capabilities of IBM’s new Personal System/2, Model 50 personal computer. The product’s not-so-bashful name: the Awesome I/O card.
According to the company, the name was conceived by a CSSL marketing employee who lives in Seal Beach. After watching a demonstration of the product, he reportedly exclaimed: “Dude, that’s totally awesome, for sure!”
So much for market research.
