Iraq said its warplanes bombed two electric facilities in western Iran, while Iran claimed that its fighter-bombers struck a petrochemical complex in northern Iraq. Iran said its planes caused “substantial damage” to the complex in Mosul, 120 miles west of the border. But the official Iraqi News Agency said the warplanes struck a residential area, killing one man and wounding another. It added that its jets hit a major Iranian hydroelectric dam and electrical distribution complex in Hamadan province.
