Israeli Foreign Minister Shimon Peres said Monday that Greece, the only member of the European Communities that does not have full diplomatic ties with Israel, may soon upgrade its relations.

He was speaking after a two-hour meeting with visiting Greek Foreign Minister Karolos Papoulias, the first Greek Cabinet minister to visit Israel.

“My overall impression from our talks is that the relations between Israel and Greece are on a rising line. . . . My impression is that in all fields there will be progress--in the level of relations, in the economic, trade, culture and science fields,” he said.
