La Mirada : Skateboard Ban Considered
If the City Council has its way, skateboarders will have to give up their wheels in the vicinity of La Mirada City Hall.
Concerned that skateboarders are frightening pedestrians and damaging public property, the council has given unanimous preliminary approval to an ordinance banning skateboard and bicycle use on posted city property. Pedestrians have complained about skateboarders scooting between city hall and the library, Sloan said, and park buildings have been damaged by flying skateboards.
