Whimsical or Snobbish?

Share

As much as I enjoy Bob O’Sullivan’s lighthearted and whimsical articles, I was a little disappointed in his snobbish and condescending attitude Nov. 22. It made me wonder why he bothers traveling to foreign countries. If he wants all the “safe” accoutrements of home, then travel within the United States. Don’t go to Europe and criticize or make a joke out of their traditions.

My experience with the European featherbeds was one of delight and a new-found decorating idea. I loved the huge goose-down comforters, and the duvets that covered them made a lot more sense than a top sheet. For people who hate to have the sheets tucked in so it impedes movement of the legs, the featherbeds are a manacle unlocked.

When I returned home I immediately ordered down comforters and duvets from a company specializing in European bedding. They are terrific, and I sleep better than I ever have.

The accident that felled the bickering couple would have probably happened to them in Akron, Ohio, among the Wamsuttas. As for “hot flashes,” sleep nude.

Do some nice articles the next time you’re in Europe, Bob. You owe them one.
