Rosanna Arquette and Judge Reinhold will play a married couple who let their son die in “Promised a Miracle,” a TV movie for CBS. It’s based on the real case of a couple whose belief in faith healing resulted in the death of their diabetic 11-year-old son.

Loretta Swit, who spent many years playing a nurse in the Korean War on “MASH,” will host a TV special about the real Korean War. “Korea: Remembering the Forgotten War” will be syndicated for airing next May, marking the 35th anniversary of the war’s conclusion and the coming Olympic Games in Seoul.

Tess Harper and Frederic Forrest have the lead roles in “Little Girl Lost,” a TV movie that ABC has ordered. They play a married couple who take in a little girl as a foster child, then go to court to adopt her after she reports that her natural father, whom she has been visiting periodically, is molesting her.

Coming up Dec. 21 is “A Garfield Christmas Special,” with Lou Rawls singing a title song that will be music to any Garfield fan’s ears: “Greedy, Greedy.” On Dec. 24, CBS will broadcast “Santabear’s Highflying Adventure,” featuring the voices of John Malkovich and Kelly McGillis.

“American Playhouse” will kick off its seventh season on PBS in January with a three-part adaptation of Eugene O’Neill’s “Strange Interlude.” The drama, about a manipulative woman, stars Glenda Jackson, Jose Ferrer, Rosemary Harris, David Dukes, Ken Howard and Edward Petherbridge.

Sammy Davis Jr., Morgan Fairchild, Brooke Shields and Reba McEntire will be the guests on “Bob Hope’s Christmas Show,” airing Dec. 19 on NBC. One sketch has Hope playing Santa Claus, who decides to run for President, only to have his aides try to improve his image.
