Pacentro, Italy, may erect a statue of Madonna--the singer, not the Virgin--whose grandparents emigrated from the central Italian town in the early 1900s. A Naples-based group called Friends of Show Business, which is sponsoring the initiative, met with town officials Saturday to show them a model of the proposed bronze bust. Mayor Raffaele Santini said the town would study the offer to determine whether the statue would have “economic and touristic benefits.”
