Britain’s Civil Aviation Authority said it would have some objections to the sale of a stake in British Caledonian Airways to Scandinavian Airlines System. The CAA indicated in a statement that it could not back the present proposal, under which SAS would acquire 40% of British Caledonian but with a limited voting power of 29.5%. Industry sources said the government had not rejected the present proposal in principle but was seeking a British shareholder to match the voting power of SAS.
